The Knott County Sportsplex is proud to be the home of Mountain Youth Basketball League. The league is open to boys and girls teams from ages 4 through 14. We have no geographical boundaries for accepting teams. We are thrilled to host our local teams from Knott, Perry, Letcher, Floyd, Leslie, Magoffin, and Breathitt counties but if you live outside of those counties you are more than welcome to participate in our league as well. We strongly encourage all school teams to participate as we offer great competition from areas other than your home county, however there is no restriction on how teams are comprised. If you have an AAU team or just a group of kids that want to play basketball we would love to have your team in the league. There is no entry fee for participating in the league and every child who participates will receive a trophy at the end of the league tournament.

  • Mini All-Stars - a coed division for boys and girls ages 4 to 6

Player Eligibility

  • Division age requirements are used to insure the safety of our players and create an equal playing field
  • The cutoff date for age eligibility is July 1 of every year
  • A player's age on July 1 determines the division they are eligible to play in until the next July 1
  • Example: Player A was 6 years old on July 1, 2009 but turned 7 in October 2009.  Player A is eligible to play as a 6 year old until July 1, 2010.
  • Coaches MUST have a valid copy of each player's birth certificate at every game
  • A copy of each player's birth certificate must also be turned in to the Sportsplex with your roster
  • If a player's eligibility is questioned by the opposing coach, their birth certificate will be used to prove eligibility
  • If a coach can not prove a player's age when questioned, that player must leave the game immediately
